Cash on delivery does not have to follow the same policy for every order. A defined policy can help a store decide when COD should appear at checkout.

Kavach lets merchants hide, rename, or reorder eligible payment methods using supported rule conditions. Here is a practical way to approach a COD rule.

Start with a specific condition

Choose a supported factor that matches your store’s policy, such as the cart value, a product, or a delivery location.

Avoid treating a checkout rule as fraud detection. A rule applies the conditions you configure; it does not establish that a customer or order is fraudulent.

Define the payment experience

Decide which eligible payment method should be hidden, renamed, or reordered when your conditions match. Consider what customers will see and which other payment options should remain available.

Fixed COD fees and payment-step messages require Shopify Plus and an eligible paid Kavach plan. Do not assume those features work on every store.

Test, publish, and confirm

Use the simulator with orders that should match and orders that should not. Review the results before publishing, and confirm that the rule synchronizes with Shopify.

A saved draft is not a live checkout policy.

Review app activity honestly

Kavach’s activity history helps you review app-owned events, including rule changes and synchronization results. It is not a source of conversion, revenue, or automatically captured checkout execution analytics.

Use your own business records to assess the effects of a policy. There is no guaranteed reduction in returns or increase in sales.
